AboutUs
Mission
Our mission is to become the leading provider of wound treatment products for traumatic injury for use by the military, emergency responders, and civilians worldwide.
History
Established in March 2006, TraumaCure was born from the discovery of a groundbreaking solution for high-pressure arterial bleeding, particularly in wounds where using a tourniquet is not an option. The patent-pending technology behind WoundStat, which consists primarily of naturally occurring, mineral based compounds, will help WoundStat™ become the first line treatment for any bleeding trauma injury.
WoundStat™ received clearance by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on August 23, 2007 after only 40 days of review, and this novel product is now being marketed by TraumaCure in military and civilian markets worldwide.
The technology behind this innovative solution emerged from three years of research at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Reanimation Engineering Shock Center (VCURES) led by Kevin Ward, M.D., Robert F. Diegelmann, Ph.D., and Gary L. Bowlin, Ph.D. The shock center at VCURES trains approximately half of the Special Forces medics and conducts a range of research and development programs in cooperation with the US military TraumaCure is a privately held company based in Bethesda, MD.
TraumaCure, based in suburban Washington, D.C. (Bethesda, MD), is led by a team of seasoned life science, health care and medical device executives. It is a privately-held company.
